Description:
Job Summary:
Responsible for transporting and relocating gasoline- or diesel-powered tractor trailers from base to established destination(s).
Essential Functions, Duties, & Responsibilities:
Transporting trailers at predetermined docks/yards
Fueling tractor and trailer(s) upon return to base and unhooking trailer(s) at specified location
Coordinating with Distribution management on equipment prioritization and utilization
Inspecting Yard Dog and Trailer for defects before and after shift and submitting a report indicating their condition.
Ensuring processes have been followed and verifying adequate use of load locks, straps, and bulkheads.
Monitoring fuel use and adjusting the reefer unit's fuel level and temperature, as needed.
Communicating with management on potential issues that arise
Ensuring all functions are completed in accordance with company standards and procedures, including quality standards and safety regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:

Knowledge of Yard Dog driving requirements is preferred.
Strong Interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work cross-functionally and within a team-based environment.
Utilize safe driving skills and the ability to drive large tractor trailers.
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Commercial Driver License or Driving Experience Required
Prior yard jockey experience preferred.
Manufacturing and/or Poultry Industry experience is a plus
