Hotel Group Sales Manager Job Description

Columbia Sussex Management is seeking a dynamic Hotel Group Sales Manager to join our team at the Greensboro Marriott Downtown in Greensboro, NC. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of proactive selling, solicitation, and relationship building. The hotel has 285 rooms, over 24,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, a full-service restaurant, certified M-Club, and a full fitness facility.
Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain all markets of group segments through proposals, phone calls, outside calls, and site inspections.
• Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current, and potential clients.
• Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
• Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
• Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
• Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel, and review competition.
• Represent the hotel at trade shows.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of hotel sales experience with a proven track record of booking business.
• Strong background in selling hotel rooms, F&B, catering, meeting rooms, and thorough knowledge of sales techniques.
• Ability to maintain consistent verbal and written communication with clients.
• Must be able to work effectively with operations and sales teams.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Qualifications:

• Previous hotel sales experience required, Marriott experience preferred.
• Ability to move throughout the property to conduct site inspections.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
