POSITION PURPOSE: The Title IX/DHR Investigator plays a critical role in ensuring CSU Bakersfield’s compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as CSU systemwide policies, related to Title VI, Title VII, Title IX and Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (DHR). Under administrative direction of the Executive Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Compliance (Title IX Coordinator/DHR Administrator), the position is responsible for conducting impartial and thorough investigations into complaints, analyzing evidence, interviewing involved parties, and ensuring timely and fair case resolution. The incumbent manages comprehensive case documentation, supports the development of efficient case management systems, and collaborates with campus stakeholders to promote a coordinated response to reports and complaints. Additionally, the investigator contributes to policy development and compliance efforts, fostering a safe, inclusive, and equitable campus environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE – Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in law, social work, education, human resources, or related field and two (2) years of experience involving student, faculty, and staff conduct, investigating formal complaints or grievances, or related work experience.
LICENSES – Possession of a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain by date of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: SEDENTARY WORK – involves mainly sitting; minimal walking and standing; lifting light weight objects limited to 15 pounds.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
SCREENING: Only those applicants possessing experience most directly related to the immediate needs of the office will be invited to appear before a Qualifications Appraisal Board for the purpose of appraising training, experience, and interest in the position.
BACKGROUND CHECK: Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
