Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Nephrologist to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing a broad spectrum of kidney-related conditions, including chronic kidney disease (CKD), end-stage renal disease (ESRD), electrolyte disturbances, and hypertension. The position offers the opportunity to work in a flexible, low-stress outpatient setting with the added option of participating in research or establishing a private practice alongside our team.

• Schedule : Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (last appointment at 4:15 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of kidney conditions, including CKD, glomerulonephritis, PKD, and kidney stones
• Treat and monitor dialysis patients (both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), including managing associated complications
• Address and correct electrolyte abnormalities such as hyponatremia, hyperkalemia, and metabolic acidosis
• Manage hypertension, particularly cases related to renal disease
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests including labs, urinalysis, renal function tests, and biopsies
• Prescribe and adjust treatment plans for kidney disease and associated conditions
• Perform and interpret renal biopsies as needed
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team—including nurses, dietitians, and social workers—to coordinate comprehensive patient care
• Educate patients about disease prevention, treatment adherence, and lifestyle changes
• Monitor and manage comorbid conditions related to kidney disease such as anemia, bone metabolism disorders, and cardiovascular risk
• Work with transplant teams to manage pre- and post-operative care for transplant candidates and recipients
• Prescribe and monitor immunosuppressive therapies for transplant patients
• Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system
• Stay current with best practices and clinical advancements in nephrology through CME and research participation

Required Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certification or board eligibility in Nephrology
• Active, unrestricted medical license in Arizona
• Proficiency in managing kidney disorders, dialysis care, and associated complications
• Experience with renal biopsies and advanced diagnostic interpretation
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain

Preferred Qualifications

• Fellowship training or specialized experience in transplant nephrology, pediatric nephrology, or dialysis
• Familiarity with emerging dialysis technologies and renal replacement therapies
• Experience in immunosuppressive therapy and post-transplant care
• Multilingual skills (preferred based on patient demographics)
