What You'll Do:
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you’ll work closely with our Physical Therapists to support clients’ rehabilitation and therapy plans. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting clients with exercises and activities prescribed by the Physical Therapist to improve strength, mobility, and function.
Observing and documenting clients’ progress and responses to therapy.
Providing encouragement and support to clients to help them stay motivated and engaged in their therapy.
Educating clients and their families on exercises and techniques to continue their progress at home.
Communicating effectively with the Physical Therapist and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and effective care.

Job Title/Position: Physical Therapy Assistant
Reports To: Physical Therapist / Clinical Manager
Job Description Summary
The physical therapy assistant provides physical therapy services under the direction of the physical therapist and according to the physician's plan of care.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
1. Provides direct physical therapy according to directions of a qualified physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care and as defined in the state Physical Therapy Practice Act.
2. Treats patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
3. Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.
4. Utilizes physical agents, including, but not be limited to heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.
5. Observes and reports to the physical therapist and the Organization personnel the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in patient's condition.
6. Instructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.
7. Maintains necessary records; clinical notes and conference notes, which will be incorporated into the patient's clinical record in prescribed time frames.
8. Participates in Organization Home Care Team Members meetings and Organization lnservice Education Program.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
1. Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with either an Associate's degree in science or applied science that is approved by American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.
2. Approved as a physical therapist assistant by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
3. Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills.
4. Possess and maintain current CPR certification.
5. Licensed driver with automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with the organization requirements.
Environmental Conditions: May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold in all weather conditions. Must drive in various weather conditions on roads in varying degrees of repair.
Working Conditions: May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases. Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances. May be exposed or occasionally exposed to patient elements. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Handles emergency or crisis situations. Travel required. OSHA exposure category: Category I - Position includes tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues.
Benefits
Pay
For 32-40 hours/week: Hourly pay of $40-48 (depending on experience), plus 10% documentation incentive (completed within 24 hrs), plus eligible for all benefits
For less than 32 hours/week: Per visit rate applies
Routine follow up visit: $70 without incentive; $76 with incentive ($10 for non-billable visit)
Up to two rest breaks per day @ $3.14 per break
$44/hour for meetings, orientation, etc.
Mileage reimbursement at IRS rate (Company Mileage)
