Job Summary
The Housekeeper, NYC is responsible for the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the spaces. This includes the family's private living space, entertaining space & office space. This position will work under the direction of the Residential Operations Manager to ensure each space is prepared for the Principals needs, as well as the needs of incoming guests and for special events.
A proactive work ethic, strong interpersonal/communication skills, effective time management skills, and elevated attention to details are essential. The ability to work collaboratively as part of an agile team is also required.
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining the cleanliness of all spaces including, but not limited to:
■ Sweeping and keeping outdoor areas tidy
■ Cleaning outdoor furniture (seasonal) & washing the cushions, as needed
■ Cleaning the grill and fireplace
■ Refilling firewood as needed
● Occasional errands - dry cleaning drop off and pick up, grocery store, post office etc.
● Flexibility to help with occasional evening or weekend events
● Assisting with household decorating for parties and holidays
Required Skills/Abilities
● At least 3-5 years’ experience in housekeeping/house cleaning position, preferably
● Proactive personality and self-starter
● Ability to work independently on tasks and projects
● Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
● Must be able to frequently go up and down stairs as living space is spread over several floors
● Comfortable with texting, emails and online calendars (preferred team communication method). Including, but not limited to: Google Calendar, Google Documents & Sheets, Zoom App & Shared Notes App.
