In this position, you will lead, manage, and develop our private and public transportation engineering projects and staff. Preparation and review of Traffic Impact Analyses (TIA). Representation at Public Hearings to support TIAs. Design of traffic signalization, Signing and Pavement Marking, ITS, and safety technology. Investigate accident data and evaluate changes to improve traffic safety and operations. Enhance safety for bicycle and pedestrian facilities on roadways or trails. Prepare engineering reports documenting findings and recommendations. Conduct field reviews to identify safety and operational issues. Develop improvements to enhance safety and traffic flow. Prepare conceptual improvement drawings. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and remote staff to deliver work on time and within budget. Manage staff including other traffic engineers. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, a Professional Engineer License (preferred or in progress), knowledge of FDOT policies and manuals such as MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, and others, excellent communication skills, and a valid driver's license.
